Management of Eleusine indica (L.) Gaertn Resistance to Glyphosate Herbicide in Indonesia

چکیده

Eleusine indica (L.) Gaertn, commonly known as goosegrass or wiregrass, is a type of grass that widespread in many parts the world. The broad-spectrum herbicide glyphosate most frequently used Indonesian oil palm plantations to get rid weeds and other undesirable plants. However, improper rotation types by farmers has led an increased risk resistant weed emergence. This investigation tries validate E. indica’s resistance, investigate mutations EPSPS gene biotype, determine herbicides can control glyphosate-resistant biotypes. whole plant pot test method was measure resistance level, while DNA sequencing using PCR conducted on all samples identify biotype. study results showed biotypes were identified but susceptible propaquizafop, ametryn, sulfentrazone herbicides. Several biotypes, such North Sumatra having multiple resistances glyphosate, paraquat, ammonium glufosinate. Thr102Iso Pro106Ser amino acid substitutions found indica-resistant findings this paraquat glufosinate; further research required mechanism.

The Use of Reduced Rates of Herbicide Combinations in Tank-mixes for Goosegrass (Eleusine indica (L.) Gaertn.) Control

A study was conducted to determine the efficacy of a combination of ametryn plus glyphosate or glufosinate in tank-mixtures on the control of goosegrass at the 3to 4tiller growth stage under glasshouse and field conditions. In the glasshouse, seven of the nine herbicide combinations were additive, while two of them were antagonistic when goosegrass was treated with combinations of ametryn plus ...

Multiple resistance across glufosinate, glyphosate, paraquat and ACCaseinhibiting herbicides in an Eleusine indica population

An Eleusine indica population was previously reported as the first global case of field-evolved glufosinate resistance. This study re-examines glufosinate resistance and investigates multiple resistance to other herbicides in the population. Dose–response experiments with glufosinate showed that the resistant population is 5-fold and 14-fold resistant relative to the susceptible population, bas...

Transcriptome Profiling to Discover Putative Genes Associated with Paraquat Resistance in Goosegrass (Eleusine indica L.)

BACKGROUND Goosegrass (Eleusine indica L.), a serious annual weed in the world, has evolved resistance to several herbicides including paraquat, a non-selective herbicide. The mechanism of paraquat resistance in weeds is only partially understood. To further study the molecular mechanism underlying paraquat resistance in goosegrass, we performed transcriptome analysis of susceptible and resista...

Potential Lipid-Lowering Effects of Eleusine indica (L) Gaertn. Extract on High-Fat-Diet-Induced Hyperlipidemic Rats

BACKGROUND To date, anti-obesity agents based on natural products are tested for their potential using lipase inhibition assay through the interference of hydrolysis of fat by lipase resulting in reduced fat absorption without altering the central mechanisms. Previous screening study had indicated strong anti-obesity potential in Eleusine indica (E. indica), but to date, no pharmacologic studie...

Herbicide effects on cuticle ultrastructure in Eleusine indica and Portulaca oleracea.

Eleusine indica and Portulaca oleracea are two common weeds in peanut crops in southern Córdoba. Two chemicals are frequently used to control them, quizalofop for grasses and lactofen for dicots. The objective is to study the effects of quizalofop and lactofen on cuticle ultrastructure in E. indica and P. oleracea, respectively. In the lab, quizalofop was applied on E. indica and lactofen on P....
